The Frolic Starts Today!
Yes, its time for the Oz Winterfest Candy Cane Frolic! What is a Frolic, you ask? Well, it is a super fun event where you frolic about looking for candy canes, of course! Any similarity to a HUNT is purely coincidental. *winks*
The Frolic opens TODAY at 9 am SLT. We will be closing the sim from 7 am to 9 am to prepare all the candy canes for dispersal.

How do you Frolic? Its as easy as one, two, three!
Step 1. Look around. There are candy canes spawning randomly all over the sim. When you see one, click it. It will disappear and you will get a gift tag. (Oooh, you know what gift tags mean, right? Presents!) Red Candy Canes contain unlimited items and Green Candy Canes are limited - only 10 green candy canes will drop per hour.
Step 2. Wear your gift tag. It will appear in your hand and tell you which shop to visit to get your gift. Find that shop in Oz.
Step 3. There will be a green striped gift with ruby slippers somewhere in the shop. You need to be within 2 meters of the gift, then click your tag. You will receive your gift!
Some additional information:
The tags are one use only! Discard the tags after you receive your item, they will not work again.
If the vendor has put more than one package in the gift box, the box will distribute the gifts AT RANDOM. This means that you will need to collect multiple tags to get all of a vendor's gifts and it may take quite a few tries to get them all. This was solely at the vendor's discretion and I invite you to send any "You've Been Naughty!" mail to them and not me ;)

More details on Winterfest :)
Come join in the fun at Magic of Oz this winter season! We have six WEEKS of fun stuffs to do here in the Land of Oz.
First up is the Winterfest flickr contest. Each week for the next six weeks we will take submissions in our flickr group for winter photos in Oz. The rules are simple. Winter or holiday themed. Use different areas of the sim for extra credit. For super extra credit, look around and utilize the awesome interactive decorations all around the sim. Ther are lots of things to do here - ice skating, sleigh riding, food and drinks to find - ride a carousel! We will be looking for creativity as much as a lovely picture. Photoshopping is allowed but not required. Malk and I will choose a winner each week who receives 500L. The six winners will then go to a public vote for best Winter photo in Oz. The grand prize winner gets $5,000L! Exciting stuffs yes? See the discussion in our flickr group at http://flickr.com/groups/magicofoz/
We are also doing Festivus in the Witch's Castle - a SL holiday for the rest of us! Come visit the Festivus Pole and air your grievances anonymously through our Angry Snowman! Marvel at the display of Feats of Strength and enjoy whatever other rituals we can come up with.
We are also planning a formal Winter Solstice Ball on the 21st at Emerald City. Ballgowns, dancing, prizes and merriment galore =D Do you love beautiful flowing dresses and dashing formalwear? Does the thought of dancing the shortest night of the year away to lovely holiday music spun by a live DJ sound like fun? Then this is an event not to be missed! Prizes for Best Dressed, of course. Times to be announce shortly.
Then we are planning our Candy Cane Frolic - this is a hunt with a twist. (ha!) We will have candy canes (magic ones of course) that spawn randomly throughout the sim, just like the ruby slippers. But in this case, the candy cane gives you a gift tag labeled with a certain store. Inside the store is a present. You wear the tag, touch the present and get a gift! Easy as can be :)
Oh, also new holiday custom fish on the way and fishing in different areas of the sim! Maybe fishing tournaments if I can convince Malk to run some...*grins*
Last but CERTAINLY not least... we have new stores in Munchkin Land! Welcome Alchemy, L & Co., The Laughing Academy, and Reve du Crie/Guild of Crie to Oz. Stop by and visit the newly remodeled section 2 of ML. I think we have one remaining open shop there and we would love to get a hair designer! IM Magic Scribe for more information.
